Speeding in Dawn-Euphemia

A St. Clair Township woman faces stunt driving charges after being pulled over in Dawn-Euphemia.

OPP officials say on September 18, at 8:15 a.m. a member of the Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was monitoring the speed of traffic along Bentpath Line in Dawn- Euphemia Township.

Police say as a result, the OPP member identified a 2008 Chevrolet that was allegedly recorded as travelling 147 km/H in a posted 90 km/h zone.

Subsequently, the driver, a 19-year-old St. Clair Township woman was charged with stunt driving and is to appear at the Sarnia Traffic Court on October 13, 2017.

Her driver’s licence and vehicle were seized/impounded for seven days.

“Again, the OPP will not tolerate those who endanger the lives of our motoring public,” police officials said.

“This kind of behaviour will see immediate action and the defendant will be aggressively prosecuted. Slow down already.”
