– The Dresden Plate Quilt Festival is taking place Friday and Saturday at the Dresden Trinity Christian Centre in Dresden. A quilt display and tour will be held on Friday September 29 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday September 30 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event features dozens of quilts, antique to contemporary, quilts for sale, demonstrations and draws. You can also learn more about the ‘Barn Quilt Trail’. Festival Passports are available both days. Visit Dresden shops for stamps and enter to win prizes. Cost is $5.

– The Wallaceburg Centennial Lions Club Charter Night dinner is taking place on Saturday, September 30 at UAW Hall on Elm Drive in Wallaceburg. International Director Thomas Gordon is set to present the Club Charter and certificates to the new club members.

– The Foundation of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance is proud to present the 5th Annual Chatham-Kent Pumpkin Run for local healthcare on Sunday, October 1. – Susan West is in Concert on Sunday at 10:45 a.m. at the Zion Free Methodist Church outside of Sombra. West is from from Lexington, Kentucky but was raised near Wallaceburg. – Looking ahead to next week, the 9th Annual Chatham-Kent & Lambton Children’s Water Festival is taking place at the C.M. Wilson Conservation Area. Many local schools will be making the trip to the site this week. The festival helps to improve quality of life while maintaining sustainability in the community by fostering respect for water and encouraging environmental stewardship. – The Wallaceburg Adult Activity Center is holding a Quarter Auction at the CBD Club in Wallaceburg on Wednesday. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the auction starts at 7 p.m. Water and a light snack will be provided.

– The Chatham branch of the Canadian Cancer Society is encouraging the community to join them in the fight against breast cancer, during the 6th annual ‘Two Boobs in a Bucket’ event. On Thursday, October 5, CK Mornings hosts Chris and Sam will be sitting high in the sky, 65 feet in the air over Keil Drive in Chatham.
