$6.1M Lottery controversy in Chatham-Kent

A controversy has been sparked, after a $6.1 million dollar lottery ticket was sold in Chatham.

Reports say after a Chatham man discovered he had purchased the winning ticket, he promptly broke up with his common law wife and moved out.

Before the full prize could be claimed by the man, his former partner found out about the win.

Subsequently, the Chatham woman successfully obtained a court injunction, which has frozen the multi-million dollar payout.

After playing the lottery routinely with her former partner, the woman feels she deserves half of the prize, reports say.

Ontario Lottery and Gaming officials say the jackpot for the Wednesday, September 20, 2017 Lotto 6/49 draw, worth $12,293,435.20, was split two ways.

OLG officials said one winning jackpot ticket worth $6,146,717.60 was sold in Chatham.

The other jackpot winning ticket was sold in Quebec.

  1. It obvious they were together more than 2 years and 1 month, you don’t just let someone you met move into your house on the first day, just split the money and get on with life, she’ll be much better off with the lowlife gone , seems to me he wasn’t really in love with her and the daughter and just wanted a place to hang his hat, so to speak ,
