Police are investigating after some firearms and other items were stolen from a Dresden-area home.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say sometime yesterday between 7 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. unknown suspects allegedly forced their way into a rural residence between Tupperville and Dresden, causing about $600 damage to a door.
Police say once inside, the suspects stole a 43” Sony Bravia television, Seika DVD player, Nintendo gaming console, Super Nintendo gaming console and WD Passport 320gb external hard drive.
The suspects also stole three firearms in their respective locked cases: a Stevens .22 cal single shot lever action rifle, a black Remington 710 12-gauge pump action shotgun and black 270 Remington 710 pump action shotgun.
A small quantity of ammunition was also stolen.
Total value of the theft has been estimated at approximately $2,000.
