A snowfall warning has been issued across Chatham-Kent, as snowfall, with total amounts of about 15 cm is expected.

Forecasters say snow has begun in Windsor and will become heavy at times this afternoon and move eastward.

“The main snow event is expected to end near midnight, however, a few flurries or local snow squalls are possible south of Lake Huron early Thursday,” Environment Canada officials stated.

“Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.”

Officials are asking people to continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
