Update: No injuries, blaze on-going at Tom and Al’s warehouse

Firefighters remain at the scene of a blaze at the Tom and Al’s warehouse in Wallaceburg.

Bob Davidson, assistant fire chief, says there are no reported injuries.

“The fire is still ongoing,” Davidson stated in a press release sent out at 10 a.m.

“The cause will be considered under investigation at this time.”

Davidson said the time of the call came in at 6:59 a.m. to the 479 King Street location.

“An initial response from Wallaceburg Station 3 saw firefighters arriving to find a working fire at a commercial warehouse that had breached the roof,” Davidson says.

“The fire was contained to the initial fire occupancy. Station 3 Wallaceburg, Station 2 Chatham, an Aerial from Station 1 Chatham and Station 5 Tupperville attended.”

One house and a garage at the back of the structure was exposed to the blaze, Davidson says.

At this time, there is no damage estimate available.

Several roads surrounding the building are closed to traffic.
