Wallaceburg resident Melody Emery shaved her head on Sunday, in support of a family impacted by cancer.

A fundraiser was held on Sunday, January 14 at the Merlin Legion in support of Bill Davison and his family.

After Davison was diagnosed with cancer, Emery said she wanted to organize an event to raise funds for his family.

Through various donations and sponsorship, they ended up raising $2,380.

Emery was joined by three other people, who also shaved their head for the cause, her husband Mike Shepley, Carl Alexander and Bill Davison Jr.

“A big thanks goes to Alfredo Zinga for being the barber,” Emery said.

“Big thanks to all the sponsors and also the people who donated cash and or door prizes. Another big thanks to all the people that came out and supported the family.”

A jamboree was also held with the ‘Marquis’ at the event.

Emery last shaved her head back in April of 2015 in memory of her friend Alice Rossignol.
