The McKeough Dam remains closed to reduce potential flooding in Wallaceburg, as water levels remain high in the Sydenham River. St. Clair Region Conservation Authority officials say flows on the east branch of the Sydenham continue to be significant, and ice conditions on the north branch are being monitored on an ongoing basis. These conditions have the potential to further deteriorate and break up ice on the north branch, which could lead to ice jamming and minor flooding above the jam. LATEST FROM SCRCA

Water levels are expected to peak in Thamesville and Chatham on Friday, as a flood warning remains in place by the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority. As the peak passes Thamesville, water in the Thames River is expected to back up local creeks into the community and cause flooding. Based on past flooding events, water levels at the center of the community can be expected to be between a third of a metre and half a metre deep. These depths of flooding would be similar to what was experienced in the 2008/2009 and the 1977 floods. In Chatham, the Thames is expected to rise an additional 1.3 to 1.6 metres. There levels would be similar to the 1977 flood and the 1968 flood. LATEST FROM LTVCA
