Events: The Ladies Foursome auditions, fundraiser for Tucker

We’re going to take a look at some upcoming events in the community, which is brought to you by Rum Runners Speakeasy in Sombra. Rum Runners Speakeasy is always planning a good time! From Pub nights with Live music to Wine and paint parties to Sunday Euchre. We also host the Sombra Optimist Meat draws. Stop by 167 King Street in Sombra Wednesday to Sunday starting at 11am for Daily lunch and dinner specials.


Auditions are set to take place at the Wallaceburg and District Museum this weekend for a performance of ‘The Ladies Foursome’. Anyone interested in taking part in this comedy performance are encouraged to attend the auditions, which is scheduled for Sunday, March 4, in the Jeanne Gordon Hall above the Museum, at 1 p.m. Women aged 25 and older are invited to audition for this performance. No acting or golf experience is necessary

A Ham/Turkey Dabber Bingo is being held on Sunday at the Moose Lodge in Wallaceburg. Doors open at 12 p.m. and the bingo starts at 1 p.m.

Elizabeth Murphy & Brian Primeau are performing at Rum Runners Speakeasy in Sombra on Thursday March 8. The show starts at 7pm.

A fundraiser is set to take place on Saturday, March 10 at the Moose Lodge in Wallaceburg, with proceeds going towards the family of Tucker Marcolin. The 3-year-old Wallaceburg boy was injured after being attacked by two dogs in Jaycee Park in Wallaceburg back on February 5. The event will run from approximately 4 p.m. until close.

The Sombra Optimist Club will be holding a Chili Cook-Off and Trivia Night at the Port Lambton Community Hall on Saturday, March 24, 2018. Contestants need to preregister to be in the contest by phoning Johaane at 519-331-5737.

The Sombra Optimist Club will be holding meat raffles at Rum Runners Speakeasy in Sombra. The dates of the raffles are: March 7 and 21, April 4 and 18, May 2, 16 and 30 and June 13 and 27. There will be six draws each night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The cost is $1 per draw ticket. Each raffle prize is valued at $25. Proceeds go towards the Optimist Youth projects.
