Heavy snow possible today and tonight

A special weather statement has been issued by Environment Canada in Chatham-Kent, as snow, at times heavy, is possible today and tonight.

Forecasters say a band of snow currently located over Lake Huron is forecast to pivot southward this morning.

Snow will become heavy at times before shifting south of the area this evening.

In the wake of this band of snow, lake effect flurries will develop.

These flurries will also be heavy at times.

Travel conditions are likely to be affected during the periods of heaviest snow.

Snowfall totals of 5 to 15 cm will be possible by the time the flurries come to an end early Friday morning.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
