Failing to comply to Sex Offender Registry

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at approximately 10:12 a.m., officers were called to a Raleigh Street address in Chatham with regards to a disturbance.

Police officials allege once there, officers located a man causing a disturbance and learned that he was bound by certain conditions under Christopher’s Law.

This law compels those convicted of a sexual offence to register themselves under the Ontario Sex Offender Registry and abide by certain conditions.

The 39-year-old Chatham man was arrested for Fail to Comply – Sex Offender Registry and lodged at Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters.

He was later released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of March 6, 2018.
