The first qualifying round of the Basso’s No Frills Jr Star Search took place this past Sunday and two young ladies will be going onto the finals being held on May 6.
Alexis Hockridge qualified in the 11-14 age category. She sang Angel by Sarah McLaughlin.
Santa Green qualified in the 15-18 age category. She performed Carrie Underwood’s Before He Cheats.
There is one more qualifying round this Sunday, April 29 at The Canadian Belgian Dutch Club on Dufferin Ave in Wallaceburg.
The contest gets underway at 2 p.m.
The winner of each category during the finals will receive plaques and $250 cash from Basso’s No Frills.
Both 2nd place winners also get plaques and $150 each from the CBD Club.
The third place finishers receive plaques and $75 each thanks to The Glass Guru.
