Two more deer collisions in C-K

The Chatham-Kent Police Service are warning the public to watch for wildlife, after two more crashes involving deer.

Shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday night, police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Main
Line and Zone Road 7 in Zone Township.

The driver struck a deer causing about $7,000 damage to her vehicle, police say.

Just before 4 a.m. on Sunday morning, police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Morrison Road in Clearville.

The driver struck a deer causing approximately $10,000 damage to his vehicle, police say.

“Luckily, in both collisions, neither driver was injured,” police officials said in a press release.

“The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to remind motorists to be on the lookout for wildlife. All drivers are urged to take extra precautions, especially when driving during dusk or dawn which is when most collisions occur.”
