Change of address in Wallaceburg leads to charges

A change of address in Wallaceburg has led to additional charges for a local man.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say on May 25 a man was released from court with several conditions.

Two of those conditions stated that he was to reside at a specific address in Wallaceburg and notify police in writing 24 hours before any change in address, police say.

On May 27, 2018, police attended the man’s residence to conduct a compliance check.

At this time, the officer learned that the man was not living there nor did he notify police of his new address, police officials allege.

Early this morning, police located the man and he was arrested.

The 35-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with two counts of failing to comply.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
