Threats made, tires slashed with steak knife in Dresden

A Dresden man faces charges after an alleged incident on Monday.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say on Monday night, a man attended a residence in Dresden of a family known to him.

A verbal argument began resulting in the man swinging a steak knife towards the homeowner, police allege.

The man then used the steak knife and slashed two tires on the homeowner’s vehicle, police allege.

The man fled the area prior to police arrival.

Last night, the 23-year-old Dresden man was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public and mischief under $5,000.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
