At a gathering for friends and family on July 13 Bruce Lamb announced his candidacy for the nomination to succeed Bev Shipley as the Conservative candidate in the riding of Lambton-Kent-Middlesex in the next federal election, scheduled for October 21, 2019.

“I’ve come to know Bev and Barb Shipley well over the past several years, particularly since joining the executive of the Lambton-Kent-Middlesex Conservative EDA and helping with social media activities and advertising in the last federal election, which Bev won with over 50% of the vote,” Lamb said in a media release.

Lamb is 55 years old and has significant political experience.

He has been involved in 15 campaigns over his lifetime, including positions as campaign manager and as a candidate himself.

He served two terms as Alderman in the Township of West Lincoln in Niagara before retiring (voluntarily).

“I was elected in West Lincoln with my promise to keep mill rate increases no greater than the rate of inflation,” Lamb stated.

“We got a lot done, but we did it without imposing additional burden on the taxpayers of the municipality.”

Since moving into the Lambton-Kent-Middlesex riding near Lucan in 2006, Lamb has devoted a lot of his time to community organizations such as the Lucan District Lions Club.

He founded the Lucan Area Trails Association and is an avid horseman. He is the race director for three running races.

Lamb has completed 24 marathons, including five Boston Marathons.

He also volunteers his time at Ivey Business School (where he graduated in 1985) as an Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR).

He also owns Avalanche Search Marketing and as a small business owner he knows the rigours required to
maintain profitability and sustainability in today’s marketplace.

As a technology company run from his farm he also sees the changing landscape of the technology world and understands the speed with which change can happen.

Lamb and his wife, Jenny, celebrated their 31st anniversary this past May.

They have two grown children, Karen (fiancé Derek Stanley) and Tori (husband Josh Melchers).

“When Bev retires from federal politics at the end of 2019, he will be leaving some big shoes to fill. I hope to be the one to fill those shoes and carry on the great work that Bev and Barb have done as representative and ambassador for Lambton-Kent-Middlesex.”
