Dog owner charged for leaving boxer in hot vehicle

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege yesterday afternoon around 1 p.m. officers at the Chatham-Kent Courthouse rescued a boxer from a hot truck in the parking lot.

Officers removed the dog from the unlocked vehicle and cooled it off in a nearby creek.

The dog owner, a 39-year-old Ridgetown man was issued a $365 by-law ticket for leaving an animal unattended in a motor vehicle when weather conditions not suitable.
