The Habitat for Humanity build in Pain Court has received a boost thanks to a $10,000 Home Depot Canada Foundation grant.

The grant, which is awarded through an application process, gives the local affiliate funding that is directly used for their home building project.

Along with receiving money to help pay for materials and labour to build the house, Team Depot (The Home Depotā€™s associate volunteer program) will be helping out on two separate occasions to do painting and landscaping at the build site.

ā€œHome Depot, both nationally and at the local level, have been long time supporters of Habitat for Humanity Chatham-Kent, showing a wide range of support over the years,ā€ said Nancy McDowell, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity Chatham-Kent. ā€œOur local Home Depot has been flowing product to our ReStore (located at 566 Riverview Drive in Chatham) since before the store opened in 2014.ā€

Home Depot frequently donates customer returns, end of season stock and discontinued items to the ReStore, providing customers with access to new product at deeply discounted prices. They have also donated the landscaping materials for the Pain Court build as well as the painting supplies, in partnership with Behr, giving the home that personal touch that reflects the personality of the future homeowners.

Team Depot Associates will be on hand, for the fifth build in a row, to help with painting and landscaping which will truly transform this house into a home. Habitat for Humanity Chatham-Kent hopes to be dedicating this home by the end of September.
