#Play4Brae charity event being held in Wallaceburg

On December 8, 2018 the Wallaceburg Minor Hockey Association (WMHA) will be organizing a charity event known as Play4Brae.

This event is in memory of Braelyn Blackbird and will be in support of Cystic Fibrosis Canada and Ronald McDonald House.

On this day WMHA will have competitive games at each age level of their organization and will run from 7 a.m. through 10 p.m.

“It is our goal to raise awareness and charitable donations for both charities that have had a profound impact on the Blackbird family and our community,” WMHA officials stated.

“We will have three feature games on this day featuring the Blackbird family. At each of these games the players will be wearing alternate Wallaceburg purple jerseys and we will have guest speakers from the charities before the afternoon games along with an opening ceremony.”

– 12:50 pm Girls Bantam Lakers vs. West Oxford Inferno (featuring Braelyn’s sister Jerzee)

– 2:00 pm Girls Midget Lakers vs. Huron Heat (featuring Braelyn’s sister Ferrah)

– 8:50 pm Boys Midget Lakers vs. South Kent Lightning (featuring Braelyn’s father Luke & Uncle Louie)

Other activities throughout the day will include a raffle, 50/50, and chuck-a-puck.

Food and drink will be available again with all proceeds going to the charities.
