75 stuffed animals gathered at Wallaceburg Lakers game

The annual ‘Teddy Bear Toss’ has been deemed a success by the Wallaceburg Lakers Junior ‘C’ Hockey team.

“Big thank you to ‘Captain Shield’ and Mark for representing the Salvation Army as they took part in our puck drop,” team officials posted on social media.

“In total about 75 stuffed animals were collected and will be added to the Christmas baskets that will put a smile on local children’s’ faces. Thank you fans and family of the Wallaceburg Lakers. You are very generous.”

The Lakers couldn’t translate the success with the fundraiser onto the ice on Wednesday night.

Wallaceburg fell to the visiting Mooretown Flags by a score of 3-1.
