Fingerprints help solve 2012 theft of long guns

Lambton OPP officials allege: In December 2012 members of the Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) commenced an investigation within St. Clair Township involving a break, enter and theft of several long guns.

As a result of the original investigation, the OPP West Region Identification Bureau was able to lift several fingerprints from the scene.

Additional investigation resulted in the OPP positively identifying the fingerprint impressions.

On November 23, 2018 the OPP arrested and charged a 24-year-old Plympton-Wyoming man for the alleged offences of:

– Break and enter- steal a firearm (6 counts)

– Break and enter – commit indictable offence (1 count)

He is required to attend the Ontario Court of Justice- Sarnia on December 17, 2018 in order to address the allegations.
