Kings riding high, Lakers continue to struggle

The Dresden Kings are riding high atop the standings in the Stobbs Division of the Provincial Junior Hockey League.

Dresden won a thrilling game on Friday night in Dresden, topping the Lakeshore Canadiens 4-3 in overtime.

Brendan Ritchie scored the game winning goal at the 49 second mark of the extra frame.

Eric Carter, TJ Saunby and Lucas Spence also scored for Dresden.

Brett Brochu made 28 saves for the victory between the pipes.

The Kings have a 20-3-0-2 record on the season, good for 42 points.

The Essex 73’s are in second with 39 points.

On the other side of the spectrum, the Wallaceburg Lakers continue to struggle.

The Lakers remain winless on the year, after losing to Mooretown on Saturday by a score of 9-1.

Matt Tourigny scored the lone Wallaceurg goal.

The Lakers are 0-20-0-2 on the season so far.
