Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, shortly before 7:00 p.m. emergency crews attended the railway crossing on Pump Road in Raleigh Township, in response to a collision involving a pedestrian and an eastbound Via Rail Train.
The pedestrian, a Chatham resident, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Out of respect for the family, no further information will be released at this time.
There were no physical injuries reported from anyone on the train.
