Impaired driving charge laid in downtown Chatham

Chatham-kent Police Service officials allege: On January 25, police responded to a possible unconscious impaired driver in the downtown core of Chatham.

Officers located a 51-year-old man in a running car parked in a store parking lot.

The man was deemed to be intoxicated and was arrested for impaired driving and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for breath testing.

The man initially complied to the breath demand but changed his mind and refused to complete the breath testing.

As a result the man was further charged with failure to comply with breath demand.
