Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Shortly after 7 a.m. this morning, a motorist found a little girl wandering along Bear Line Road near Dale Drive.
The woman stopped and kept the child safe as she called police.
Through investigation, police learned that the 5-year-old girl lived nearby and she was returned home safely.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to thank the motorist who stopped to assist.
