Peter Poole formerly of Wallaceburg

Peter Charles Poole, a resident of Port Lambton and Wallaceburg his entire life, passed away peacefully at the Wallaceburg Retirement Residence on Wednesday March 27, 2019 at the age of 76. Peter was the son of the late John Albert and Helen Ruth (McCreary) Poole. Loving father of Sharon Poole, Ed Poole, and Scott (Angie) Poole. Dear grandfather of Cassie and Kristin Poole. Brother of Jacqueline Card, Maryann Hasar, George (Marie) Poole, Brother in law to Carmen (the late Jim Poole) and Len (the late Kay) Salisbury. Brother to the late Janet Lindsay, Pat Coyle, Tom Poole. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Pete was a retired Captain of the Wallaceburg Fire Department with 30 years of service and also worked at Dominion Glass prior to joining the fire department. He was a faithful volunteer for many charities, and member of First Baptist Church and was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed the Legion Dart League. His fondest memories were of Michelle’s Bay, Arizona and Alberta. A Celebration of Pete’s Life will be held at First Baptist Church on Friday, May 3 at 3 PM with visiting in the hour prior. The service will be celebrated by Rev. Brian Horrobin. Peter’s cremated remains will be interred at Riverview cemetery at a later date. The family would like to thank the Sydenham Hospital, especially Dr. Burgess, Dr. Mayo and Dr. Atoe and the Wallaceburg Retirement Residence for their great care.
