Tickets on sale for RM celebration.

Tickets will go on sale on Thursday, April 18 at 10:00 am for both the Sam Roberts Band and Big Sugar concerts supporting RM Sotheby’s 40th Anniversary events.

Big Sugar, June 22 at Capitol Theatre

Led by vocalist Gordie Johnson and his signature double neck Gibson guitar, the leaner, cleaner, present day Big Sugar still rock the house! Whether performing new songs like “Anything is Possible” from their latest album “ETERNITY NOW” or certified hits, “Ride Like Hell” or “Diggin A Hole”, Big Sugar is sure to keep fans dancing and playing air guitar.

Limited tickets are available to attend the preshow VIP Reception where you’ll enjoy a signature drink, appetizers, receive a copy of Big Sugar’s CD “Icon” and have the opportunity to get it signed by the band. Local act, Superfly, will open the show. Proceeds from the Big Sugar concert will support Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation.

Canadian singer/songwriter Sam Roberts released his debut in 2002, following a popular independent demo recording he had made in Montreal. Before that point, he had been a violin player who eventually moved on to guitar and started a rock band with his friends. The Inhuman Condition was released and became the best-selling independent EP in Canadian history. In 2003 he released his first full-length album, We Were Born in a Flame. The Certified Double-Platinum selling album was a huge hit in Canada and won the Juno Award for Album of the Year, Rock Album of the Year, and Artist of the Year. He continued to release hit albums for the remainder of the decade. For his 2011 release, Collider, Roberts changed from using his name to using Sam Roberts Band. In 2014, Lo-Fantasy was released to great acclaim. Lead single We’re All In This Together reached the top of both Canadian rock radio charts, followed by Top 10 hits Human Heat and Shapeshifters. In 2016, TerraForm was released, the band’s 6th studio album. Most recently Roberts released We Were Born In A Flame 2018 Deluxe Edition, which included previously unreleased tracks on 3 LPs.

The Sam Roberts Band concert will take place in Tecumseh Park and there will be tickets for purchase at the gate—subject to availability—and at a higher price than advance tickets ($25 vs. $22 including handling fees). Local act Walkin 47 will open the show. Proceeds from the Sam Roberts Band performance will support the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation.
