Robert Hamilton formerly of Wallaceburg

Robert Hamilton, on Fri. May 24th, in a room lit with sunlight in the arms of his beloved wife Audrey; Bob went gently and peacefully to sleep at St. Joseph’s Hospice, in Sarnia, at the age of 74.

Bob and Audrey were predeceased by their three loving infants.

Left to mourn him are his dear family: his sister Carole (Bob) Campbell; brothers in law Alex Gomes, Sid (Diana) Vanderwerf, Rick (Gizell) Vanderwerf; sisters in law Mary Rosseel, Barb ( John) Wysman; his loving nieces and nephews Geoff & Rob, Darryl & Michelle, Carolyn & Jen, Steve & Al, Rob & Karen, Kiah. Also predeceased by his parents Elmer & Eve, sister Sonja , parents in law Dick & Ann Vanderwerf, brother in law Maurice and niece Tanya.

The gift of life was treasured together for 51 years, each day anticipated with great enthusiasm. He & Audrey loved the great outdoors both at home and away, always something new to discover, living many happy years in Petrolia followed by Bonnie Doon Camlachie.

Bob’s early years were filled with sports in Wallaceburg where he did track & field high jump, basketball and many years playing senior lacrosse. Happy times were spent with family, his circle of close friends from Wallaceburg, great days at Polysar/Nova, interests in music, photography, motorcycling and building projects, Bob could often be found in his workshop. We are so thankful for all the love given by Bob and to Bob.

Our heartfelt gratitude to all in health care who did their best for him. A donation to St. Joseph’s Hospice Sarnia or Bluewater Health would be greatly appreciated. Gatherings to celebrate and give thanks for Bob’s precious life will be held at a later date.
