OPP: Violent robbery, impaired driving

Robbery in Lambton

Lambton OPP officials allege: The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Lambton County Crime Unit is currently investigating a robbery that occurred on Monday night on Petrolia Line.

On June 10, 2019 at approximately 6:05 p.m., multiple suspects invaded a residence in the 3000 block of Petrolia Line in the Township of Enniskillen.

Upon entry, the suspects assaulted the home owner, stole items from the residence and fled in an unknown direction.

A 33-year-old Sarnia man was arrested and charged with the following offences, pursuant to the Criminal Code:

– Robbery with Violence,

– Break, Enter Dwelling House – Commit Indictable Offence, and

– Aggravated Assault

He remains in custody on these charges and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice-Sarnia at a later date.

The Lambton County OPP Crime Unit is continuing to investigate and is seeking assistance from the public.

Impaired driving in Lambton

Lambton OPP officials allege: On June 7, 2019 at approximately 11:25 p.m., a Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer received a traffic complaint of a possible impaired driver travelling northbound on Lakeshore Road in the Municipality of Lambton Shores.

At approximately 11:45 p.m., Anishnabek Police Service (APS) located the suspect vehicle and held the driver until OPP arrived.

Upon speaking with the driver, it became apparent the driver was displaying signs of impairment.

The driver was arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Lambton OPP detachment to provide breath tests.

The driver, a 36-year-old Chatham woman has been charged with:

– Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus.

– Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs, pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice-Sarnia, Ontario on June 24, 2019.
