Bear Spray used during theft attempt

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Just before 6 a.m. this morning, the man attended a business on Richmond Street in Chatham and attempted to steal a laptop.

When approached by an employee, the man used bear spray on the employee.

The employee did not require medical attention.

The man fled the scene prior to police arrival, leaving behind a GT Bike.

He was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt with plaid shorts.

The man was approximately 100-150 lbs and had a tattoo on his neck with cursive writing.
