Mobile service outages across the country

Many of Canada’s top mobile service providers have been experiencing network outages since Sunday, July 7.

“Some customers may experience calling issues as the result of a service interruption on other carriers’ networks,” @TelusSupport tweeted.

“We are continue to monitor the issue as the providers work to resolve their outage.”

Rogers officials say the estimated restoration time for the national outage is to be determined.

“Please be advised some customers may be intermittently experiencing dropped calls or are unable to place or receive calls on their mobile phone or wireless home phone service,” Rogers officials stated.

“We are working diligently to restore services as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.”

The Chatham-Kent Police Service posted a statement on social media about the issue as well.

“Please be advised the ROGERS network is down globally and may only offer sporadic access,” police officials posted to social media.

“Please use an alternative carrier or a land line to contact 911. ROGERS is actively working to repair the issue.”
