The 4th annual Wallyfest was held in downtown Wallaceburg on Saturday, July 13.

The sun shone and Mother Nature cooperated as hundreds of people enjoyed a day of activities organized by the Wallaceburg and District Chamber of Commerce.

The event was free and ran from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

“We are Bear Bums Baby Boutique, located in Chatham. We offer all things for babies, toddlers, and some things for moms. We’ve got almost any product that families might need, when you start out with a newborn child.

A representative from Bear Bums Baby Boutique in Chatham told the Sydenham Current this was their third straight year taking part in Wallyfest.

“We wanted to gain a greater local presence, but people know that we are out there,” a representative with the business told the Sydenham Current.

“We picked up this business from another woman, who had it, but decided that she had to be done, as she was going to be expanding her family. We had brought it to Chatham, but it is hard to get your name out there, unless you do these types of festivals.”

James Street was closed to traffic and the street was lined with direct sales vendors such as: Thirty One, Limelife by Alcone, Leaf Filter, Leggings by Cindy, Scentsy, Epicure, Sweetlegs, and radio stations 92.9 CFCO, 94.3 CKSY, UCB Radio 89.3 and Cool FM 95.1.

Hometown sports teams, such as the Wallaceburg Red Devils and the Wallaceburg Thunderhawks were present, selling merchandise to raise money for equipment and to support their teams.

The Wallaceburg Martial Arts program put on a demonstration for spectators, and there was a kid zone with inflatables, games, face painting, and free popcorn.

In addition, there were also many businesses and community groups from Wallaceburg also in attendance, including: Wallaceburg Retirement Residence, Wallaceburg and District Museum, Knights of Columbus, Knowledge First Financial, Neighbourhood Watch, Goldcoast Fashions and Scouts Canada.
