2019 C-K Addictions Awareness Conference scheduled

Seduction and destruction 21st century style. That is the theme for this year’s Chatham-Kent Addictions Awareness Conference. Spearheaded by the Chatham-Kent Community Health Centres, Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Mental Health & Addictions Program,Canadian Mental Health Association, Restorative Justice Chatham-Kent and Westover Treatment Centre, this collaborative effort has attracted hundreds of community members and service providers collectively during its previous conferences.

Not only does the conference draw a large audience, it also garners the attention of high- profile speakers. At the podium this year is Paul Lavergne. Paul is one of the only Certified
Sexual Recovery Therapists in Ontario and will be conducting a one day workshop on How to treat compulsive sexual behaviours (CSB’s) in the new Millennia. Paul’s enlightening workshop will touch on how to assess and treat CSB’s, treatment plans, the
impact on partners of sex addicts, and the interplay between CSB and co-occurring and cross-addictions.

The purpose of this conference is to provide ongoing education to service providers and community members alike in regards to the realm of addictions. By peeling back the layers of addiction, participants gain valuable insight into its various root causes. With this knowledge, they are better equipped to assist those struggling with addictions in the Chatham-Kent and surrounding communities.

This year’s conference is being held at Club Lentina’s in Chatham from 9AM to 4PM on Thursday, November 28. Tickets are on sale now! Early bird pricing is only on until September 6th for $125 per person. After that date pricing is $140 per person.
