Wednesday, July 31, 2019, Branch President Zone Commander and District A Sgt-at-Arms Len Maynard and Public Relations Officer Irene Williams of the Royal Canadian Legion Chatham Branch 642, generously donated $200 worth of personal care items to the Medicine Unit at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA).

Part of the mission statement of the Royal Canadian Legion is to serve Veterans, youth and seniors in their communities. In that same spirit, the members of Branch 642 saw a need for these items and through their own personal experiences were inspired to collect these essential items for CKHA.

“We are happy to be challenging the 10 Legion Branches within the Chatham-Kent community to match this donation or better,” said Len Maynard, Sgt. at Arms. The Branches are located in Blenheim, Highgate, Merlin, Ridgetown, Thamesville, Dresden, Tilbury, Wallaceburg, Bothwell, and Wheatley.

“Thanks to donations like these, we can help our patients feel their best and even organize occasional spa days,” said Marie Marchand, Clinical Manager, Medicine Department. The team greatly appreciates Branch 642’s challenge in support of CKHA.

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 642 is located at 39 William Street in Chatham, Ontario. The Legion is proud to provide essential services and programs, raise funds, and volunteer in the Chatham-Kent community.
