The Wallaceburg ThunderHawks dropped their 2019/2020 season opener on Sunday night in Blenheim.
The Blades skated away with a 2-0 victory.
Christian Moccia and Seth Henderson scored for Blenheim, both in the first period.
Jacob Lister was solid between the pipes for Wallaceburg, making 29 saves in the loss, including a save on a penalty shot in the second period.
The Blades out-shot the ThunderHawks 31-19.
Wallaceburg will look to rebound on Saturday night at Wallaceburg Memorial Arena, when they host the Wheatley Sharks in their home opener.
The arena in Wallaceburg has underwent significant renovations in the off-season, but is slated to be open by the weekend.
