Woman charged with resist arrest

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police responded to a disturbance at a residence in Chatham.

Police spoke with the two women present in the home and determined that no one was in need of assistance. Upon leaving, police learned that one of the women falsely identified herself.

Through investigation, police determined that she used an alias because the homeowner was on conditions not to communicate with her.

Yesterday afternoon, police returned to the residence.

As the homeowner was placed under arrest, she refused to cooperate and pulled away.

The 36-year-old Chatham woman was taken into custody and charged with failing to comply with her release conditions and resisting arrest.

She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man charged with being in possession of prohibited weapon

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday around 5:30 p.m. police located a man on Margaret Avenue in Wallaceburg who was wanted for property related crimes and failing to attend court last month.

Upon being searched incident to arrest, the man was found to be in possession of a can of mace.

The 23-year-old man of no fixed address was additionally charged with being in possession of a prohibited weapon.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man charged with impaired driving

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Just before 7 p.m. last night, police responded to a motor vehicle collision on St. Clair Street in Chatham.

Through investigation, police believed the man was driving while under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested.

The man was transported to police headquarters for breath tests.

A 74-year-old Chatham Township man has been charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.

He was released pending a future court date of October 15, 2019.

Man charged with weapons dangerous

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 7:30 p.m. last night, police responded to a disturbance in Tilbury.

As the officer arrived, the man was acting in aggressive manner while in possession of a large steak knife.

The officer drew his firearm and ordered the man to drop the knife.

After several demands, he complied and was taken into custody.

The 27-year-old Tilbury man has been charged with being in possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and assault with a weapon.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Woman charged with fraud related offences

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last month, police were called regarding a fraud complaint.

Through investigation, police learned that the woman attended two different pharmacies in Tilbury with fraudulent prescriptions that were stolen from a dental health center.

Being suspicious, a pharmacist made further inquiries and the woman identified herself as the dentist who prescribed the medication.

Earlier this week, police located the woman and she was arrested.

The 33-year-old Tilbury woman has been charged with fraud related offences, personation and three counts of drug possession.

She was released pending a future court date of October 17, 2019.
