The Noelle’s Gift foundation has donated a total of $64,000 to the St. Clair Catholic and Lambton Kent district school boards to support students and families in need for the 2019-2020 school year.

“Once again this year, we are so very grateful to the Noelle’s Gift Foundation for its tremendous support of children in need, not only in our schools, but right across the communities of Sarnia-Lambton and Chatham-Kent,” says Deb Crawford, Director of Education for the St. Clair Catholic District School Board. “This generous gift each year is a fitting way in which to honour the life and work of Noelle Paquette,” says Mrs. Crawford.

“The Lambton Kent District School Board greatly appreciates the generous support of the Noelle’s Gift Foundation to provide essential items for students and families in need. We are grateful for the ongoing commitment to promoting student success and well-being, as well as encouraging healthy communities,” said John Howitt, Director of Education.

The $64,000 donation from Noelle’s Gift is shared among the two school boards and supports students and families who are in need. The money is used to purchase eyeglasses, clothing, food, medicine and medical equipment. The funds are dispersed independently by the two school boards. Teachers are able to access up to $200 for children in need. Requests in excess of $200 are made by the principal and are processed quickly, to get help funds to families as soon as possible.

The Noelle’s Gift charitable fund was established in memory of Noelle Paquette, a former Kindergarten teacher with St. Clair Catholic, who passed away in January 2013.

A cheque presentation with members of the Noelle’s Gift Foundation and the Directors of Education for St. Clair Catholic and LKDSB will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. at the Catholic Education Centre, 420 Creek Street, Wallaceburg.
