Marjorie “Marj” Johnston

Marj Johnston, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away peacefully at C-K Hospice, with her family by her side, on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at the age of 87.

Marj was a dedicated registered nurse for many years graduating from St. Joseph’s Hospital in 1955. She worked in obstetrics for many years at Sydenham District hospital. Marj is the daughter of the late Tuffield and Mary (Bechard) Thibodeau and daughter-in-law of the late Annie Johnston. Predeceased by her loving husband Huck Johnston (2002) and son Andy (2001). Survived by her loving family, Trish Johnston, Dave Johnston (Kim), Cathy Lalonde (Gus), Rob Johnston (Stacie), Joanne Johnston and daughter-in-law Annette Johnston (Jack Higgs). Cherished grandmother of Tami Farr (Dan), Bryan Johnston (Jess), Jennifer Johnston, Laura Cyples (Joey), Kathleen Johnston (Anthony Rossetto), Bailey Johnston (Stefan Arone), Colby Johnston (Gilson Lubin), step grandchildren Keita Campbell, Eli Campbell. Great grandmother of Brett, Nolan, Tucker, Ella, Sadie, Bryn, Quinn and Julia. Survived by two sisters; Joey Stratton and Marion Kerwin. Predeceased by her sisters; Theresa LaPointe, Dorothy Crawshaw, Eileen Bishop, Betty Bishop, Kate Spencer and twin sister Margaret Gauthier.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at Our Lady Help of Christians Church on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 10:00 AM. Interment at Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg.
