Woman arrested on outstanding warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning an officer on general patrol in Chatham located a female on Harvey Street who was known to be wanted for an outstanding Failing to Attend Court Warrant.

The 25-year-old female was arrested and upon arrest became resistant with officers and once in custody the female provided a false name.

The female was arrested on the strength of the warrant, resisting and obstruct police.

The female was transported to police headquarters for booking and was held pending a bail hearing.

Break and enter

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning police responded to a break and enter at a business on Richmond Street in Chatham.

Unknown persons forced their way into storage units on the property taking approximately $10,000 in electronics.

The investigation is ongoing.

There are currently no suspects.

Man arrested on outstanding warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon an officer on general patrol in Wallaceburg located a male on Wallace Street who was known to be wanted for an outstanding Failing to Comply with Undertaking Warrant.

The 44-year-old male was arrested and transported to police headquarters for booking.

The male was later transported to courts for a bail hearing.

Woman charged with domestic assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday evening police responded to a residence in Dresden.

Through investigation police learned that a physical altercation had taken place and the husband had been assaulted by his wife.

The 37-year-old female was arrested for assault and transported to police headquarters where she was later released with a future court date.

CKPS kick-off festive RIDE season

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday evening police conducted a RIDE throughout the municipality of Chatham-Kent.

A total of 152 vehicles were stopped and checked.

No infractions were observed.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to remind all motorists that RIDE spot checks will increase through the holiday season in an effort to keep our roads safe.
