The 2019 annual Dresden Kinsmen Christmas Parade took place this past Saturday evening at 6 p.m.

The streets were filled with hundreds of smiling faces as local businesses flooded the streets to see the Christmas parade with decorative floats and light up displays.

“It’s a night-time parade, so it’s nice to see people use lighting and such to highlight their floats,” Dustin Pumfrey, this year’s parade marshal, told the Sydenham Current.

“Dresden is the final Santa parade in Chatham-Kent every year and co-hosting activities with the Night Market helps bring in huge crowds.”

The Kinsmen Santa Claus parade wound its way through the streets of Dresden led by members of the local volunteer fire department.

Area businesses, youth groups and churches followed, with Santa on the last float wishing everyone Merry Christmas.

This year’s parade theme was “A Griswold Family Christmas.”
