CKHA services altered for holiday season

Some health care services offered at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance’s Chatham and Wallaceburg sites will be altered over the holiday season.

Routine X-rays, electrocardiograms (EKG), and ultrasounds will not be available on December 25 and 26, 2019 and January 1, 2020 and will reopen on January 2. These departments will be staffed to meet the needs of inpatients and emergencies.

Out-Patient Rehabilitation Services at the Chatham and Wallaceburg sites will not be available from December 23 to 27, 2019, as well as January 1, 2020. This department will be staffed to meet the needs of inpatients. The Musculoskeletal Rapid Assessment Clinic at the Chatham Site will be closed December 23 to 27, 2019, as well as January 1, 2020.

The Diabetes Education Centre and the TIA and CAD clinics will be closed on December 25 and 26, 2019 and January 1, 2020.

Pulmonary Function Lab, Chatham and Wallaceburg sites, will be closed on December 23 through to and including December 30, 2019 and closed again on January 1, 2020. To accommodate patient needs the Pulmonary Function Lab at the Chatham and Wallaceburg sites will be open on December 31, 2019 and January 2, 2020. Additionally, the Chatham Pulmonary Function Lab will be open on January 3.

The Chatham-Kent Out-Patient Mental Health and Addictions Program will be closed on December 25 and December 26, 2019 and January 1, 2020. Please note on December 24 and 31, 2019 the office will close at 4 p.m. The Rapid Access to Addiction Medicine (RAAM) clinic, which operates on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, will be open on Monday, December 23, 2019 and closed on December 25 and 27, 2019. The RAAM will open again on December 30, close on January 1, 2020 and resume its regular operations on January 3. Out-Patient Lab Services will be closed on December 25 and 26, 2019. To accommodate patients, Out-Patient Lab Services will operate at regular hours on December 27, 2019. The Lab will close again on December 31, 2019 and January 1, 2020 and will reopen on January 2, 2020.

The Pre-Surgical Screening Department will be closed from December 23 through to and including December 29, 2019 and will reopen on December 30 and 31, 2019. The department will then close again from January 1, 2020 through to and including January 3.

The Patient Appointment Office will be closed December 25 and 26, 2019 and January 1, 2020.

Health Records will be closed on December 25 and 26, 2019 and January 1, 2020.

Elston Pharmacy, located at the Chatham Site, will close at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 and remain closed on December 25 and 26, 2019. The Pharmacy will be open on Friday, December 27, Monday, December 30, and Tuesday, December 31 with hours 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Pharmacy will close Wednesday, January 1, 2020 and return to regular business hours on Thursday, January 2, 2020.

The Ambulatory Care Department at the Chatham Site will be closed on December 25 and 26, 2019 and closed again on January 1, 2020. Ambulatory Care at the Wallaceburg Site, which operates on Tuesdays and Thursdays, will be closed December 24 and 26, 2019 and on January 2, 2020. To accommodate patient needs, the Wallaceburg clinic will be open on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Oncology Department will be closed on December 25 and 26, 2019 and January 1, 2020.

The Business Office and Cashier’s Office will be closed on December 25, 2019 through to and including December 27, 2019. The Cashier’s Office and Business Office will be available on December 30 through to December 31, 2019. These offices will also be closed on January 1, 2020 and will reopen on January 2. Please note there are two bill changers in the building to accommodate change for coin.

Hemodialysis Care will be closed on December 25, 2019 and January 1, 2020 and will be open on Sunday, December 22, 2019 and Sunday, December 29, 2019 to accommodate patient needs. The department will resume normal hours on January 2, 2020.

The Emergency Departments at the Chatham and Wallaceburg sites are open 24 hours daily.
