Stolen vehicle involved in a crash in St. Clair Township

Lambton OPP officials allege: On December 24, 2019 at 2:45 p.m. Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Baseline Road in St. Clair Township.

While responding to the scene, Lambton OPP were advised a concerned citizen had attended the scene to check on the driver, at which time, the driver forcibly removed the citizen from his small All-terrain Utility Vehicle and fled the scene in the vehicle.

The victim was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The vehicle was located abandoned several hours later.

Initial investigation revealed the vehicle involved in the collision had been reported stolen on an earlier date.

The Lambton County OPP Crime Unit is continuing to investigate and is seeking assistance from the public.
