CK EmployerOne Survey deadline approaching

Are you an employer in Chatham-Kent? Regardless of if you have 0 employees or 1,000 employees, the sector you operate in, or where in Chatham-Kent you are located, the Chatham-Kent Workforce Planning Board (CKWPB) needs to hear from you!

Time is running out on the 6th annual EmployerOne Survey (EOS). The data collection period is ending on January 31, 2020, and the CKWPB needs your information to better understand the challenges, pressures, and successes that employers in Chatham-Kent experienced in 2019.

“The EmployerOne Survey is an opportunity for Chatham-Kent employers to have their voices heard,” says Kristy Jacobs, Project Manager with the CKWPB. “This local data is valuable for anyone who does skills and education program planning in our area. We can’t get this from Census data, or any other collection, so we rely on our employers to share their needs with us.”

The EmployerOne Survey asks employers about hires, separations, training experiences, and challenges that they experienced in the previous calendar year (2019), as well as projections that may impact their workforce in 2020. Depending on the size of their current workforce, and the number of experiences in the last year, the survey could take anywhere from 5-20 minutes to complete.

The data collected in the EmployerOne Survey is used to help address community challenges. The “CK Works! Community Job Fair”, and the “Bring Your A Game” soft skills training program are two initiatives that developed directly from the information gathered in the EOS survey; to address challenges employers had expressed concerning not receiving enough resumes when recruiting, and needing stronger soft skills abilities in their workforce.

The EmployerOne survey is open until Friday, January 31, 2020 at 11:59 pm. For more information about, or support with completing the survey, please call 519.436.3299; email CKWorkforce@chatham-kent.ca; or visit the CKWPB website at www.ckworkforcedev.com .
