Man charged with criminal harassment

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Wednesday afternoon, a woman reported being harassed by an ex-boyfriend.

Yesterday, the 31-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with criminal harassment.

He was released pending a future court date of March 13, 2020.

Executed warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, officers at the Courthouse arrested a man wanted for failing to comply with his release conditions.

The 36-year-old Chatham man has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, an officer on general patrol initiated a traffic stop on Queens Line.

Through investigation, the officer learned that a man in the vehicle was wanted by Sarnia Police.

The 37-year-old Brigden man was arrested and turned over to officers from Sarnia for court purposes.

Break and enter in Dover Township

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime yesterday, unknown suspects forced their way into a residence on Winterline Road and stole jewelry.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, around 10:30 a.m. police responded to a two vehicle collision on Queen Street North in Tilbury.

No one was injured.

Total damage was estimated at $3,500.

A 57-year-old Tilbury woman was charged with an offence contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, shortly after 4:30 p.m. police responded to a two vehicle collision on Richmond Street in Chatham.

No one was injured.

Total damage was estimated at $15,000.

A 36-year-old Highgate woman was charged with making a turn not in safety.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Just before 5:30 p.m. last night, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Sandys Street in Chatham.

No one was injured.

Total damage was estimated at $3,000.

A 27-year-old Tilbury woman was charged with careless driving.

Shoplifting incident leads to charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Wednesday morning, police responded to a shoplifting incident at Canadian Tire in Wallaceburg.

A 29-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000 and being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.

He was released pending a future court date of March 17, 2020.

Man charged with theft

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Tuesday, police responded to a shoplifting complaint at Sport Chek in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that a man had taken a pair of Adidas Ultra boost shoes and left the store without paying for them.

As the alarm sounded at the door, the man fled on a bicycle.

With the assistance of video surveillance, the man responsible was identified.

Wednesday morning, a 37-year-old Chatham man was located and arrested.

He was charged with theft under $5,000 and being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.

He was released pending a future court date of March 10, 2020.

Man arrested on outstanding warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Wednesday afternoon, police arrested a man on Gray Street in Chatham who was wanted for failing to comply with his release conditions.

The 34-year-old man of no fixed address has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Neighbour dispute leads to charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday night, police responded to a neighbour dispute on Adelaide Street in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that during the argument, the man brandished a utility knife in an assaultive manner.

The 25-year-old man was arrested and charged with being in possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and assault with a weapon.

He was released pending a future court date of February 26, 2020.

Man charged with drug possession

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 8 p.m. Wednesday night, an officer on general patrol initiated a traffic stop on Princess Street in Chatham.

The man immediately got out of his vehicle and began reaching in and out of his coat pockets in a nervous fashion.

As he was doing so, a crack pipe with residue became visible to the officer.

The man was arrested and upon being searched, was found to be in possession of a baggie of suspected methamphetamine.

A 58-year-old Chatham man was charged with drug possession.

He was released pending a future court date of February 27, 2020.
