Special Council meeting called to discuss Erie Shore Drive dike

Based on information received by the municipality today, there is an elevated possibility of failure of a portion of Erie Shore Drive dike.

As a result, Chatham-Kent Council will hold a special meeting Friday, February 28 at 5:30 p.m. to discuss the issue.

“All residents of Erie Shore Drive and Erieau are urged to attend,” Municipal officials said in a press release.

“Residents along Erie Shore Drive who feel they cannot shelter in place and require emergency accommodation can call the Chatham-Kent Homeless Response Line at 519-354-6628. They should advise that they currently live on Erie Shore Drive.”

Additional information will be made available at tomorrow’s council meeting.
