Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 24-year-old Wallaceburg man has been charged with failing to comply with an undertaking after police say he repeatedly contacted his former partner despite a court order.
Chatham-Kent police say the man was charged on May 24 with assault, uttering threats to cause property damage and mischief under $5,000 against his partner. He was released on an undertaking with conditions prohibiting direct or indirect communication with the victim.
Police say that between Sept. 3 and Oct. 27, he repeatedly communicated with the victim through text messages and numerous phone calls without reasonable excuse.
Officers found and arrested him at about 8:17 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29, on Montgomery Drive in Wallaceburg. He was held pending a bail hearing.
