Motorists in Wallaceburg can expect delays today, March 12, 2020, as bridge testing is taking place at the Lord Selkirk Bridge.
The bridge on McNaughton Avenue/Hwy. 40, between Dufferin Avenue and Wallace Street, over the Sydenham River will be closed intermittently between 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“Expect minor delays of up to 15 minutes while bridge is open,” Municipality of Chatham-Kent staff stated in a media release.
Staff says no detour is posted, but motorists are being asked to use:
– Highway 40/Heavy Traffic: Murray Street (Hwy 40) – Base Line – Old Glass Rd. – Mason St. – Arnold St. – Dufferin Ave.
– Local/Commercial Traffic: Dufferin Ave. – Wellington St. – Fork St. – Margaret Ave. – Murray St. (Hwy 40) – Reaume Ave.
The Lord Selkirk Bridge underwent a major rehabilitation last year. For more details about the recent project, click here.
