Freerkje “Freida” Aukema, on Saturday at the age of 82, Freida Aukema passed away, with her children by her side, at McGarrell Place Long Term Care on March 21, 2020.
Faithful wife of Cecil Aukema; loving mother of Floyd & Judy Aukema (Woodstock), Ian Aukema & Mary Romaniuk (Toronto) and John & Veronica Aukema (London).
Loving grandmother of 10 grandchildren – who gave her great joy:
Tracy & Kendall VanRooyen, Alicia & Aaron Pyle, Amanda & Adam Donaldson, Melissa Aukema, Christopher & Joanna Aukema, Jonathan Aukema, Laura Aukema, Jordan Aukema, Kathryn Aukema, and Bonnie Aukema.
Also, 8 great grandchildren Liam, Owen, Avan, Nelia, Kaden, Nolan, Jayden, and Emma-Rose.
She was born in Holland to Ids and Grietje Haaksma (nee Sytsma). Predeceased by her stepmother, Mary Haaksma (nee Nierop).
Freida will be remembered by her brothers and sisters Pete & Tina Haaksma, Al Haaksma, Norm & Dora Haaksma, Sadie (late Nick) Buis. Predeceased by her sister Edith Gelok (nee Haaksma).
A Celebration of Freida’s life will take place at a later date. A private family service and burial will take place.
