Update: Three charged with weapons offences

The Chatham-Kent Police Service have laid weapons charges after an investigation on Wednesday, which started in Wallaceburg and ended up in St. Clair Township.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege on Wednesday morning, April 1, police responded to the report of people with weapons in the area of a home on Duke Street in Wallaceburg.

The suspects fled prior to police arrival, police officials allege.

Later that day, OPP responded to a single motor collision on Bentpath Line in St. Clair Township. More details in our original story, here.

The individuals from this collision were apprehended for investigative purposes, police officials allege.

Three men, two from Sarnia and one from Petrolia, have been charged with weapon related offences.

They were released pending a future court date of June 16, 2020.

“Police do not believe this was a random act of violence,” police officials said in a media release.

“No one was injured.”
