Police: Drug trafficking, disturb the peace, traffic violations

Traffic stop leads to charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Saturday, April 4, 2020, an officer responded to a traffic complaint on Communication Road in Blenheim.

Once located, the officer initiated a traffic stop.

Through investigation, the 29 year old Blenheim woman found to be in possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and arrested.

She was later released with a future court date to answer to the charge.

Disturb the peace

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At approximately 3:45 p.m. yesterday, police were dispatched to an address on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg in response to a disturbance call.

Upon arrival, the officers met a 30-year-old Wallaceburg man, running into traffic, impaired by suspected drug usage.

The man was arrested for his own safety, lodged at Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters as family members were unwilling to take custody and care of him in his condition.

Domestic

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Saturday, April 4, 2020 officers were called to a domestic dispute on Talbot Trail in Blenheim.

Through investigation it was discovered that the 33 year-old man was on probation with conditions not to be in the presence of the 30-year-old female who was there.

The man was arrested for breaching his probation order as well as mischief to property.

Bail violations

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Friday afternoon officers responded to Walmart located at 60 McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg as it was being reported that there was a male refusing to leave when directed by staff.

Officers attended and through investigation found the male to be breaching his probation order as he was not to attend Walmart.

The 27-year-old male was arrested and later released with a future court date.

Traffic enforcement

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Friday evening officers responded to the area of Bay Line in Dover Township as it was being reported that there was a vehicle in that area that was observed to be driving erratically.

Officers located the vehicle and through investigation the 48-year-old female was issued a three-day licence suspension and a ticket for speeding.

Bail violations

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early Saturday morning an officer on general patrol in Chatham located a male in the area of Keil Drive North who was known to be on curfew as part of his release conditions.

The 56-year-old male was arrested for failing to comply with his recognizance and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters where he was later released with a future court date.
